The Asia Pulp & Paper 2017 Consumer Trends Report found nearly 1 in 3 consumers agree they are more likely to shop with a brand that offers products in sustainable packaging, and 1 in 4 agreed they would be willing to pay more for products with this feature. This demonstrates that sustainability in packaging design is no longer a “nice to have,” but a “need to have” for brands. In the face of growing consumer demand for sustainable packaging, brands must be mindful of how to leverage this as a value proposition. In this session, APP and partners from the Sustainable Packaging Coalition will discuss how companies can best position themselves in the marketplace as leaders in sustainable packaging. They will also provide an overview of the latest trends and product developments, including alternative fibers and biodegradable paper stock as an alternative to recyclable solutions in the evolving recycling climate.
